For a completely unrivalled wilderness experience, you can opt for a Sleep-Out adventure where you walk from Plains Camp to our Sleep-Out decks with guides. These 4m high elevated wooden platforms with shade cloth tents on the top level are where guests can sleep out under the stars. Imagine a giant treehouse with flush toilets and running water!

The feasibility is affected not only by rain on the day, but also in the day or two prior as the decks are built in a very sensitive soil area.   • This unique experience is offered from both Plains Camp and Rhino Post Safari Lodge. Please note that pre-booking is essential.
  • At Plains Camp, there is no additional cost for a sleep out, however, the first guests to confirm a reservation at Plains Camp determine whether a Sleep-Out is included. If they choose a Sleep-Out, all subsequent guests booking on those dates must also participate.
  • If they decline a Sleep-Out, it will not be an option for anyone else booking on those dates.
  • At Rhino Post, the Sleep-Out is available at no additional cost for groups of 4 or more who book it as a private experience. For groups of 3 or less, an additional cost will apply. Maximum of 8 guests.
