Plains Camp is an intimate trails camp in the heart of South Africa’s legendary Kruger National Park. We are privileged to exclusively explore a 12 000 hectare private concession on foot in ‘Big 5 territory’ that was not previously open to the public. This unique, exclusive and tranquil setting allows guests the opportunity to observe animal interactions from the comfort of the camp without intruding.

The camp is built from canvas and wood with beautiful antiques and silverware giving it the elegance of a bygone era. It overlooks the Timbetene Plain where plains game roams freely, and elephants are seen daily. Tents are shaded by Knobthorn trees and cooled by overhead fans. Intent on not leaving our mark

Fans and lights are available 24 hours a day. There are no power points in the rooms for guest use, hairdryers are not available, and own hairdryers cannot be used. This is a wilderness camp with a very low carbon footprint. These are 4m high elevated wooden platforms with shade cloth tents on the top level where guests can sleep out under the stars. Imagine a giant treehouse with flush toilets and running water!
